What is SWAG an acronym for? I have a guess.

SWAG means "silly wild ass guess". At least when used as an acronym for making an estimate.

Swag as in haul, booty, free stuff, etc...is a word, not an acronym I believe. I could have swore it was another of those old pirate terms - the letters don't stand for anything.

I've seen things listed at auctions using the term for when baseball players would sign programs, pennants, and other non game gear.... but obviously we use it in a general way now, regardless of if it has a signature on it.

Yes the pirates also called their "booty" swag, so I suppose that's why the acronym stuck.
